When you’re AuDHD, you can sometimes end up spending what others would consider a ridiculous amount of time on things when you become obsessed with something. Finding the exact right material to make our products from became an absolute obsession for me, but I definitely believe it was worth all of the effort to find a truly unique, quality product! Read on to find out more info about our patches!
No Foam
Our patches are made from leatherette that won’t let you down. Other leatherette comes with a foam backing that is either stiff, warps the patches/labels, or will eventually peel off and separate from the top layer. Ours has a soft felt backing that stays put.Â
Smooth Texture
As a person with sensory issues, the way the material felt when touching was extremely important. Our patches feel soft and smooth to the touch. No fuzzies like on microsuede/suede, either!Â
Sturdy
Some material we tried was either too thin, or too thick because of the added (or missing) foam. Our leatherette has a good sturdy layer so it doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart, but is still thin enough to be flexible.
Washable
With two kids, ease of care was extremely important! If something gets dirty, it needs to be able to be cleaned, so we picked a leatherette that can survive being machine washed/dried. Â
Nearly all of our colors engrave to black, but we do offer engraving to silver and gold as well. These colors engrave just slightly differently than engraving to black, so please keep that in mind when ordering. Because of the nature of the material, the fine detailed designs aren’t quite as crisp on the gold/silver engraving as they are with black. See the comparison photos for examples!
